New Year, No Goals?

It's January, a new year has come around and we are all making goals/resolutions. Some attainable and some well.. not. If you're like me, you like the feeling of a new year. It's refreshing and motivating all in one!

I, just like anyone else, love to make goals but sometimes find it disappointing if I didn't achieve what I thought I should within a year. What I usually forget to remind myself is that some things take way more time than simply a year.

Awhile back the church I attended in Oklahoma gave us the challenge to give ourselves a word to concentrate on for the year. Resolutions or goals can sometimes be forgotten within a month or two because you're well.. just living life. Concentrating on a simple word takes away the fear or pressure of not completing everything on your goal list because let's be real, if you're anything like me, that list is pretty long. And that's GREAT! But at the end of the year, when you look back on your goals, you don't want to feel disappointed.

Focusing on one word can easily help you reset your focus and filter decisions. Previous words of mine have been patience and courage. This year I've decided to concentrate on the word consistent! I thought really hard about what my word would be for 2019. I asked myself, what did I struggle with the most in 2018? And that was consistency. So, each one of my "goals" are all going to be based on consistency.

  1. Be more CONSISTENT with my workout routine.
  2. Be more CONSISTENT throughout this blogging journey. (This one may sound silly but I feel as though if I was more consistent in this area I would see more successful results).
  3. Be more CONSISTENT with my morning routine. Oh what I would give to be more of a morning person.
  4. Be more CONSISTENT with my relationships

The list goes on but those are my top "goals" you could say.

Throughout the year I will ask myself often "am I being consistent in my daily actions". If I can consistently do the actions that I think will help me succeed then I will be successful. I believe that consistent actions create habits which then create success!

If you had to choose a word to concentrate on for 2019, what would yours be?

Thanks so much for reading!
